Panamedia, the international flight school with more than 40 years of experience in training professional pilots, incorporates the new UPRT course.

Training objectives

UPRT stands for airplane ‘Upset Prevention and Recovery Training’ and constitutes a combination of theoretical knowledge and flying training with the aim of providing the flight crew with the required competencies to both prevent and to recover from situations in which an airplane unintentionally exceeds the parameters for line operation or training (airplane upsets).

New aerobatic airplane

With the objective to provide the Advanced UPRT course in the most authentic way, Panamedia has purchased an aerobatic airplane, which allows the most acrobatic flying experience and allows our instructors to give a high standard of training.

Airlines have started requesting candidates to have this courses completed for the selection processes of new pilots. For this reason, Panamedia has worked quickly to be able to include the UPRT course in the training of its students.

Theoretical and prctical training for UPRT courses


  • EASA CPL(A) License
  • Class 1 Medical certificate

Theoretical Training – 5 hours online 

  • Basic aerodynamics.
  • Aerodynamics relative to the aircraft.
  • Possible physiological and psychological effects.
  • Management of strategies to develop resilience and mitigate the effects of shock.
  • Appropriate procedures and techniques to regain loss of control.

Practical Training – Cessna 150 Aerobatic (Advanced UPRT) or Cessna 172 Utility (Basic UPRT)

3 hours of training in an aerobic plane, including all maneuvers and procedures according to regulation FCL.745.A

Pablo Israel is the Principles of Flight teacher at Panamedia International Flight School. Pablo studied aeronautical engineering in "Univeridad del Trabajo/Fuerza Aérea Uruguaya" in 2015, and your obtained his Comercial Pilot License in "Hangar 13 Uruguay" in 2018. In 2020, Pablo finished his academic aviation instructor course also in "Hangar 13 Uruguay". Pablo had the chance to work as a flight dispatcher in 2016, and in 2019 he was responsible for the maintenance and continue airworthiness of a BE35 and other planes for "AgroParaguay" in Paraguay. Also, he was the PIC (Pilot in Command) of the BE35 (Beechcraft Bonanza), flying to many different destinations all around South America. In 2021, he decided to move to Spain, where he was working for a ULM flight school as an administrative and ground & simulator instructor. -- Pablo Israel es instructor en tierra de Principios de Vuelo en Panamedia Escuela Internacional de Pilotos. Pablo estudió Ingeniería Aeronáutica en la Universidad del Trabajo/Fuerza Aérea Uruguaya en 2015, y obtuvo su Licencia de Piloto Comercial en Hangar 13 Uruguay en 2018.
