Now more than ever, aircraft maintenance technicians are needed, an essential figure for the proper functioning of the aeronautical workflow. In fact, industry professionals state that the new technical demand until 2037 will be about 754,000 jobs.
What will I do and learn? The aircraft maintenance technician is responsible for the maintenance of the mechanical and electronic components of the aircraft. He diagnoses, adjusts, repairs or refits aircraft engines and assemblies, such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
After completing the training course, you will be able to examine and inspect aircraft components, including the landing gear, hydraulic systems, and defrosters to locate cracks, breaks, leaks or other problems.
In addition, you will be trained to be able to carry out routine and special inspections required by regulations. You will perform the maintenance of the structures and furniture and interiors of the aircraft, while participating in maintenance management, collaborating and considering parts of a logistics, deciding in certain cases on the airworthiness conditions of the aircraft.
On the other hand, you will acquire the essential skills to inspect once the work is completed to certify that it meets the maintenance standards and that the aircraft is ready to operate.
At the end of the training, you will be able to be in charge of the maintenance of the power plant of the aircraft, its systems, accessories and control elements.
What can you do at the end of the training course? The aeronautical technique opens up a wide range of job opportunities and career opportunities: head hangar technician, hangar mechanic, workshop technician, as well as being able to diagnose and repair faults, perform scheduled jobs or collaborate with the management of maintenance in the adjustment and improvement of the processes.
This type of work requires someone who knows how to perform maintenance tasks in line and base of light aviation aircraft, execute requirements of the engineering department, organize and maintain the tools and the warehouse of the workshop and other tasks of a TMA. In addition, normally a high level of aeronautical vocabulary in English is required.
